Her name is Mirage, she is 13 and a half, a girl in the age of puberty, she lives in Jaffa, the old Tel Aviv. A mixed city of Arabs and Jews.
She is Arab and an Israeli citizen. She talks in Hebrew.
At first we might think we see two different girls, maybe twins, because one face interacts with the other, as if she looks at herself.
People are talking around her, we see hands moving around her.
Mirage is laughing and stopping her laugh. When she laughs her young nature appears strongly, her joy of life seems to be profound, when she stops her laugh all her universe change and her story too, she seems to us more adult, more sad, more a women. We are confronted in the same time with both personalities.
Mirage is talking about the war between the Israeli and the Palestinians, she says she doesn't understand it, she likes everyone and everyone likes her, she herself doesn't have any problem with the Israelis, we watch her carefully, than she stares at us, her look is strong.
This juxtaposition of two oppositions, is one of the elements which I seek for in my work.
The Video is between a still image and a moving image.
The audience should find the narrative of the exposed elements.
