Under/Current launches its sixth offering, 'Future/Retro', which draws inspiration from the world of sci-fi, technology, space age, and the leaps of early modernism. The issue features a cover story shot by Jacob Sutton and interviews with pioneering architect Oscar Niemeyer, artists John Bock, Cory Arcangel, Mike Mandel, Seb Patane, and Hungarian director Bela Tarr. Showcasing the best in fashion, Under/Current presents a homage to Comme des Garçons menswear SS12 by Hector Castro & Kira Bunse, and editorials by Ben Weller, John Colver, and Mels Bles.
The launch will also premiere the screening of 'The Day the World Went Away', filmed by rising photographer Pierre Debusschere. Shot from footage taken at an Under/current fashion shoot at 254 Forest Studio in Brussels, the film unfolds a story based on a dark present-day panorama of turmoil.
