Collect Digital Video Art is a bilingual (French/English) publication written by DAD co-founders Carlos Cardenas & Vincent Justin, and independent critic and curator Marie Maertens.
Collect Digital Video Art sets out to define the terms (digital, video, new media, moving image), and gives an overview of the implications regarding collecting video art today, both in the context of its creation as well as its market. The book's primary source is a collection of interviews with art-world authorities including Christine Van Assche of the Pompidou center in Paris, Lori Zippay of EAI in New York, Niklas Svenung of the Galerie Chantal Crousel in Paris, renowned video collector Isabelle Lemaître and artists Cory Archangel and Amalia Ulman. The cover is by Cory Arcangel, and includes reproductions by Andy Warhol, Bruce Nauman, Ed Atkins, Jon Rafman, Petra Cortright, Hito Streyerl among others.
